Sewing Seeds Kindergarten

Steiner Inspired Childcare Setting in Frome

Welcome

Hello I am Claira Le Marchand.

I am a dedicated childminder and run my steiner inspired childcare setting

'Sewing Seeds Kindergarten', locally here in Frome.

.

As a dedicated mother of three, handcraft tutor, seamstress and Steiner inspired childcare provider. I have a passion for nurturing creativity and inspiring the natural curiosity in every child. My approach fosters an engaging environment where children can explore their imaginations while developing essential skills through hands-on experience. Let’s embark on this exciting journey of discovery and creativity together!

Based in Frome Somerset, in a home from home setting, Sewing Seeds Kindergarten is a Ofsted Registered 'Good' rated setting.

At Sewing Seeds Kindergarten we are inspired by the Steiner philosophy to early years education. With this philosophy I support the children in my care and their families in preparing their child to be school ready or home school ready.

"We have been very happy with the care Claira has provided for our nearly three year old son. We chose her setting because it is Steiner-inspired and because, when we met her for an initial chat, we found her approach fitted with our own; we immediately felt very comfortable leaving our son with her. We have not been disappointed! Finn hugely looks forward to his sessions with Claira (which had not been the case when we tried him out at a nursery) and comes home telling us of all the exciting activities he has taken part in. He loves the hands-on aspects of his time there - getting his own water and cutting up fruit at break time, for example. He also loves Claira's garden - finding various bugs under logs and water play have been some favourites. Claira's settling in process was tailored to Finn perfectly, rather than being a one-size-fits-all approach. We began with leaving him with her for very short periods and gradually increasing this; Claira stayed in touch throughout to reassure us that he was doing well or to let us know that he might need to be collected. The result is that he never had to stay longer than was right for him - important for him as he can be quite sensitive to these things. Finn has had a few small behaviour issues and I feel that Claira has supported him and us through these in an exemplary manner. She is very gentle with him, whilst at the same time providing clear and firm boundaries and she always makes time to discuss with us what has happened and if she has any suggestions for how we all might help him. Her suggestions have been most useful. Finn is making really good progress since starting at Sewing Seeds and I feel that Claira is supporting him well in his development. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sewing Seeds to other parents."
